FBM239 | Discrete 16DI/16DO Module

FBM239, FBM239,

The FBM239 contains 16 discrete input and 16 discrete output channels that are
compatible with voltages and currents commonly found in industrial plants. An
external power supply is used to energize the field circuits.
The FBM239 Discrete 16DI/16DO Module provides 16 digital inputs with 16 digital
output channels. Associated Termination Assemblies (TAs) and Termination Assembly
Adapters (TAAs) provide for discrete nominal inputs of 30 V dc, 60 V dc, 120 V ac/125
V dc, or 240 V ac and nominal outputs of 60 V dc, 120 V ac/125 V dc, or 240 V ac. The
module performs signal conversion required to interface the electrical input signals
from the field sensors to the Module Fieldbus.
Depending on the type of I/O signal required, the TAs or TAAs support current limiting
devices, high voltage attenuation circuits, optical isolation, and external power source
connections.
When connected to the appropriate Termination Assembly Adapters (TAAs) or TAs,
the FBM239 module provides functionality formerly provided by the 100 Series
Fieldbus Module (FBM) I/O subsystem. TAAs and TAs are available which support the
functionality of the main FBM09, FBM10, FBM11, FBM26 and FBM41 (8 input/8
output main FBMs). These main FBMs may be used with expansion FBM14, FBM15,
FBM16, FBM27, or FBM42 (8 input/8 output expansion FBMs).

3500/20 BENTLY Rack Interface Module

3500/20 PDF

Description
The Rack Interface Module (RIM) is the primary interface to the 3500 rack. It
supports a proprietary protocol used to configure the rack and retrieve
machinery information. The RIM must be located in slot 1 of the rack (next to the
power supplies).
The RIM supports compatible Bently Nevada external communications
processors such as TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX. While the RIM provides certain
functions common to the entire rack, the RIM is not part of the critical monitoring
path and has no effect on the proper, normal operation of the overall monitoring
system. One RIM is required per rack.
For Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications, the 3500 System requires a
TMR version of the RIM. In addition to all the standard RIM functions, the TMR RIM
also performs “monitor channel comparison.” The 3500 TMR configuration
implements monitor voting using the setup specified in the monitor options.
Using this method, the TMR RIM continually compares the outputs from three (3)
redundant monitors. If the TMR RIM detects that the information from one of
those monitors is no longer within a configured percentof the information of the
other two monitors, it will flag that the monitor is in error and place an event in
the System Event List.

Configuration
Keylock
Used to place 3500 rack in either
“RUN” mode or “PROGRAM” mode.
RUN mode allows for normal
operation of the rack and locks
out configuration changes.
PROGRAM mode allows for
normal operation of the rack and
also allows for local or remote
rack configuration. The key can
be removed from rack in either
position, allowing switch to
remain in either RUN or PROGRAM
positions. Locking switch in the
RUN position allows you to restrict
unauthorized rack
reconfiguration. Locking switch in
PROGRAM position allows remote
configuration of a rack at any
time.

Overview
REF615 is a dedicated feeder IED (intelligent electronic device) designed for the
protection, control, measurement and supervision of utility substations and
industrial power systems including radial, looped and meshed distribution networks
with or without distributed power generation. REF615 is a member of ABB’s
Relion® product family and part of its 615 protection and control product series.
The 615 series IEDs are characterized by their compactness and withdrawable-unit
design.
Re-engineered from the ground up, the 615 series has been designed to unleash the
full potential of the IEC 61850 standard for communication and interoperability
between substation automation devices.
The IED provides main protection for overhead lines and cable feeders in
distribution networks. The IED is also used as back-up protection in applications,
where an independent and redundant protection system is required.
Depending on the chosen standard configuration, the IED is adapted for the
protection of overhead line and cable feeders in isolated neutral, resistance earthed,
compensated and solidly earthed networks. Once the standard configuration IED
has been given the application-specific settings, it can directly be put into service.
The 615 series IEDs support a range of communication protocols including IEC
61850 with GOOSE messaging, IEC 60870-5-103, Modbus® and DNP3.

It can amplify the digital signal of the control system to drive relays and control high-power equipment, thus playing an important role in industrial production.
Industry application:
Industrial production automation: used to control the action of production lines, machines and equipment to automate the production process.
Power system control: Controlling the action of motors, valves and other actuators in electric power generation and distribution systems.
Water treatment and sewage treatment: Control pumping stations, valves and treatment equipment to achieve automatic control of water treatment processes.
HVAC systems: In building automation systems, control air conditioning systems and ventilation equipment.
Traffic signal control: Used in traffic systems to control signal lights and road equipment.
3. Technical characteristics
Grounding and Safety:
CPU 351 or 352 modules must be connected to rack ground at the slot where they are installed to ensure stable operation and safety of the system.
The EMC ground kit includes ground cables, ground supports, and screws for easy grounding connection.
Signal Processing and diagnosis:
The module may be equipped with a fault diagnosis function to monitor the status of relays, identify faults and report them to the control system, thereby improving the reliability and maintainability of the system.
